Raffaele has worked for years with a shipyard creating "waveboats", boats powered by jet-skis. He designed almost the entire range using 3D and virtual reality. Beyond design, he also created several digital products including a 3D touch configurator, as we were able to realize for other brands.

The shipyard offers a range of boat finishes and options, as well as several engine solutions.

This may involve choosing the right outboard motor or jet ski to power the jet.

Of course, not all options are available in the showroom. This is all the more true when visiting trade shows. The consumer range alone represents six boats, each of which can be configured with dozens of different combinations.

Customers can visualize their boat in different environments: island, lake, virtual showroom, to appreciate all the subtleties revealed by the different lights.

It was therefore essential to be able to present all possible alternatives to customers.

The 3D touch configurator extracts high-quality images of the chosen configurations. A quotation can be added, including the price of the options selected.

When the 3D touch configurator was created, the 3D models already existed. So the work consisted in coding the application, creating the universes and animations. Had the 3D models also had to be created, design time would have been much longer.

There are very few boatyards that can offer their customers a shopping experience like this. In an ultra-competitive sector like the yachting industry, the need to differentiate is absolutely essential.
